Tornado Capitol of the World = OklahomaOklahoma is the Tornado Capitol of the World. In fact, about 10 years ago, the National Weather Bureau moved its headquarters from Kansas City to Norman, Oklahoma. Oklahoma has more tornado chasers here, than all the other storm chasers in the US, added to gether.
The above tornado was the worst tornado in the history of modern day, tornado history. We have tapes after tapes of the coverage. I will not be putting much on this site, because I already have tons of stuff on my homepage, which I will send you to. Go down and click on the tornado subject and the page will begin to load.
Also, I am giving you some other urls that are important. Why is Oklahoma the tornado capitol. Well, the meteorologis maintain that Oklahoma sits right in the middle of the area where cold fronts come through off of the Rocky Mountains and collides with the warm wet air from the Gulf Coast. So, ... have fun reading about tornadoes. They can be deadly, if you are in a car, with a CD on, instead of a radio station.
You will find my story through this page, and then some more pages that I will refer you to. Again, ... have fun, as you learn about one of natures greatest and deadliest phenomenon that she produces. I cannot imagine what it would be like, if we didn't have televisions with meteorologists who give us 20 to 30 minutes head start on these things.
